Damini yelped as two hares came flying into the cave, shortly followed by Furia. "That was all I could find. You two, eat. Don't let my work go to waste," she grumbled flopping heavily in the back of the cave.

Canavar's face was that of pure relief. He dug into the hare, almost forgetting to share. He got about two-thirds of the way through before he stopped and pushed it over to Furia. "...thanks," he said softly.

Furia shoved the hare back. "I already ate. Finish it, you'll need your strength," Furia said editing the den to pay outside.

Canavar nodded in gratitude and finished the hare. He watched as Damini followed her sister. He still couldn't walk, so sat in isolated silence.

"He's really not that bad you know," Damini said approaching her sister.
"He's a stranger, and a male stranger at that. Don't be such a trusting fool, it will only get you hurt," Furia snapped at her sister.

((I can't really say anything here))

Damini growled. "You can't say anything! You haven't even allowed any male close enough to give them a chance! You judge them without even getting to know them. Not all of them all the same!" Damini snarled at her sister. "Maybe you should just listen to me on this, Damini. All males are foul, disgusting creatures. They don't deserve to live! I swear I would kill him right when I met him if not for you, and you dare to say I'm wrong about them. You don't know what they've done to me, me personally!" Furia howled, whirling around so her back was to her sister. "Perhaps if you told me then I would know, but you're always keeping to herself about everything. Am I not trustworthy? Don't you love me?" Damini practically whined. Furia stopped the angry remark that had been on her tongue. "Did you know, that I was mother once?" she questioned softly. "I thought he was a nice wolf. Boy was I wrong. He ended up being just another son of a B. I had one pup. He was small and frail, but I loved him. His name was Tyale, and he was my pride and joy, but the times were hard, and our family was on the verge of starvation. That sick dog was a selfish half-breed, and one day I went out hunting. When I got back with one scrawny rabbit he was dozing, looking content, something we had felt in ages. I couldn't find Tyale though, so I nudged him awake to ask where my son was. He just gave me a crooked smile and said he was delicious." Damini looked onward at her adoptive sister, horrified. "W-wh-what did you do?" Furia looked away but answered, "I killed him, and any other male that tried to seduce me along the way, until I found you. Damini, you held my life together after that. That's why I don't want you to get hurt." The red wolf stalked out of the cave then and off into the undergrowth in the moonlight.

Canavar's mouth dropped, as did his stomach. He was doomed if he stayed here. He'd have to leave, injury or not. He was just lucky he hadn't died yet. She might not kill him, but he wouldn't take the chance. That night, he'd be history.

Damini stared on in sadness at her sisters disappearing form. Slipping out from the den as well she looked out to where Canavar lay, his mouth wide open. "Did you hear all of that?" she said, stumbling over her words.

"Hear all of what?" he asked, his countenance suddenly switching to that of casualness. He cleared his throat nervously.

Damini let out a low whine while choosing to lay down next to her mate. After a good hour had passed with them in silence the younger one asked, "You won't leave me with our pups, right? You'll stay and protect them like a real father would. I just know you will." The beautiful dog said the last part quietly, almost as if it was a whisper that had been lost on the wind, only to be found miles later by an unsuspecting ear.

"Oh! Of course," he said, trying and failing to mask his nervous laughter. "Why would I leave my beautiful mate and lovely children?" He turned to Furia with his winning grin. "I'd never just leave you guys! What kind of dog would think of such horrible actions!" He scoffed and buried his nose into Damini's pelt.

The previously returned Red Wolf snarled at the ridiculous comment and action. Damini simply snuggled closer to the male, enjoying his warmth. Suddenly an idea struck. "Hey Canavar, you and Furia should go hunting together tomorrow. After all, I can't hunt for myself. I bet you're a great hunter. You two would work wonders together! Maybe you'll bring a big old deer or something!" Damini cooed to her mate, trying, and hopefully succeeding, being persuasive. Furia growled low in her throat at the request, but said nothing.

Canavar swore mentally. "I'd love to," he said, the false cheeriness earning him a glare from Furia. "First thing in the morning."
